Ms. Kera Mathes

Born and raised in Southern California, I have always had a love and appreciation for the ocean. I recieved my Bachelor of Science in Marine and Environmental Science at Hampton University in Virginia. My current work has given me incredible opportunities to rescue sea turtles, teach at an informal aquarium for over 9 years, lead a research team on whale conservation, and get training and up to date science in topics such as sea level rise and climate change. After earning a Masters of Arts in Education, I have taken my passion for science into the high school classroom and teach high school biology where I hope to inspire our next generation of scientists.
