PARENT EDUCATION AROUND THE DISTRICT
Throughout the year, parent meetings, classes, and workshops are held at school sites that fit the needs of that school community. Action teams or school leadership determines the workshops based on parent interests, needs, and school improvement goals. Below is a listing of the current parent workshops sponsored by the Access and Equity Department.

P.A.T.T.
Parents Are Teachers Too is a Kindergarten parent academy that can span anywhere from 5 weeks to 10 weeks to once a month. Each school determines the model for presenting the sessions and the academy leader customizes the sessions with the school's Kindergarten teachers beforehand. Potential topics are:
- Kindergarten Readiness
- Creating a Literate Home
- The Sounds and Letters of Language
- Learning at Home Activities for Literacy and Math
- Learning How to Read
- Learning How to Write
- Sensory and Motor Skills
- Social and Emotional Skills
- Getting Ready for First Grade
Current P.A.T.T. Academies you can join NOW!
You do not need to have your child at these schools to attend. You only need a child that is currently in Kindergarten. Please call their school office and ask for the academy dates and let them know you are coming!
