    San Bernardino Valley Chapter (CA) of The Links, Incorporated: 2024 Scholarship Application

    The purpose of the award shall be to enable and assist students who best meet our eligibility requirements, in attaining a higher education and achieving their career goals.

    Eligibility

    This award will be presented to an African-American resident of San Bernardino or Riverside Counties, who meets the following requirements:

    1. High school senior enrolled in a public, private or parochial school.

    2. Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

    3. Acceptance to an accredited four-year College or University.

    4. Demonstrated exceptional leadership through community service and/or involvement in extracurricular activities.

    5. Completed application and supporting documents must be received by Friday, March 8, 2024 by online submission, mail to P.O. Box 7700, San Bernardino, California 92411, or e-mail to teresabrown1977@gmail.com.

    6. Two letters of recommendation are required and letters cannot come from a relative or peer.

            a. One by a school official or teacher at the school of attendance.

            b. Church official or Community Leader who can attest to your personal character attributes.

    7. Typed, double-spaced essay of at least 300 words but not to exceed (2) two pages.

    8. FAFSA Confirmation page with EFC attached.

    Criteria for Selection

    Only completed applications with supporting documents received via online submission, mail or e-mail by Friday, March 8, 2024 shall be considered. Applications will be scored on the basis of academic performance, written essay, financial need and community service.

  • 1. Women in California Leadership (WiCL) Foundation – Minerva Scholarship Program

    The WiCL Foundation is now accepting online applications for the 6th Annual Minerva Scholarship Program. This year, 126 scholarships of $3,000 each and one $10,000 Golden Minerva Scholarship will be awarded!

    Eligibility Requirements:

    ·         Be a full-time student in good academic standing at an accredited college/university OR a graduating high school senior with proof of college acceptance.

    The CLLCF is an annual scholarship program that was established to assist deserving students by offering financial assistance to help meet educational expenses.

    3. Barona Band of Mission Indians – Barona Education Grant

    The Barona Education Grant offers $5,000 grants to K–12 schools in California to purchase essential educational materials like books, technology, and academic supplies.

    Key Details:

    • Grant must be endorsed by a State Executive Office holder, Senator, or Assemblymember from your district. You can reach out to our office for this letter.
    • Applications must be postmarked within 30 days of the endorsement letter.
    • Grant funds cannot be used for wages, field trips, furniture, scholarships, or one-time use materials.
    • One application per school per year is allowed.
    • Please mail completed applications to:
